Harry B. Chandler
Chairman of the Board, River LA
Harry B. Chandler is the Chairman of the Board of River LA. In 2009, Harry was appointed by Mayor Villaraigosa to the River LA board and elected the founding chairman.
As a member of the prominent Chandler family and 5th generation Angeleno, Harry has a deep understanding of and commitment to the city’s growth and prosperity. He is part of the legacy that has influenced the region’s development and supports various cultural and philanthropic initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all Angelenos.
In addition to being a civic leader, Harry is an accomplished multi-media artist who focuses on Southern California as his muse. As a painter, photographer, sculptor, and digital artist, his art centers on movement, saturated colors, magic, impermanence, myth-making, and iconic landscapes and people. He has had three solo museum shows and numerous gallery exhibitions.
Previously, Harry worked as an executive and producer in the internet, feature film, and network television businesses for companies including 20th Century Fox, Showtime, CBS, Hearst Entertainment, Dream City, the Los Angeles Times, and Overture.
Harry studied at Phillips Academy Andover and Stanford University. He also attended the UCLA Graduate School of Motion Pictures and Television.
